This unique scarf is made sustainably out of banana plants in Channai, India by a group of women (who were previously abused), getting back on their feet. We are thrilled to be able to support these amazingly talented women as well as this sustainable process!

This banana material is made from the stems of banana plants. The fiber is produced by removing it from the banana plant stems physically, no chemicals are used. The fibers are then twisted together to make a yarn. This material from banana plants would normally go to waste, so this is a good use for it.

Wrap yourself or someone you care about in Cosmos!

"The Gift of Cosmos"

I planted, grew, and nurtured these magical plants in my garden for months before they were ready to harvest for the dye. This is an eco-friendly and sustainable craft that is part of the slow clothing movement.  Flowers are collected throughout the season. When there is enough to fill a dye pot, the next part of the process begins to unfold revealing this healing golden color! Because these pieces are naturally hand dyed, their slight color variations make every piece truly unique.

As a way of giving back, we are honored to support reforestation with One Tree Planted as part of our commitment to sustainability.  A tree planted for every item sold. One more tree will be planted because of you!

*Hand wash with cold water and neutral ph soap, hang to dry. Please note that these are plant dyed by hand and colors may possibly change or fade over time due to the nature of botanical dyeing.
